Point-of-care monitoring of therapeutic drugs by direct ionization and sampling methods using a miniature mass spectrometer

Aim

Direct analysis of dried and wet biofluids using a miniature mass spectrometer interfaced wilh a variety of ambient ionization sources, such as paper spray and slug flow microextraction-nanoESI for point-of-care therapeutic drug monitoring.

Instrumentation

Miniature mass spectrometer (Mini 12) coupled with direct ionization and sampling source.

Experimental procedure

Note: please pay careful attention to any biosafety information provided by the instructors

1. Introduction to a miniature mass spectrometer.
2. Optimization of MS and MS/MS methodology for analysis of target small molecules.
3. Acquire and analyze data with tile instrumental software.
4. Comparison of figure of merits, as limits of detection, linearity, quantitative performances between benchtop and miniature mass spectrometer.
